Games and Amusements Board (GAB) Chairman Eric C. Buhain graduated Cum Laude with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Finance from La Salle University in Pennsylvania, United States. He spent his primary and secondary schooling at De La Salle Santiago Zobel School in Alabang, Muntinlupa City Philippines.

A true athlete with much zeal and dedication, Chairman Buhain received numerous awards and citations for his outstanding achievements in sports, particularly swimming. A topnotch swimmer of the country, he was several times the country's representative to two Olympic Games – one in 1988 at Seoul, South Korea and the other in 1992 at Barcelona, Spain.

He also participated at the prestigious Asian Games and the Hirosima Games. At the Southeast Asian Games, he received gold medals in not a few swimming events and competitions.

Being a sports mentor, Chairman Buhain has previously managed and headed top swimming clubs and associations in the country. Prior to his present position in GAB, Chairman Buhain was president of Professional Swimming Coaches Academy of the Philippines (ProSCAP) and director of the Philippine Amateur Swimming Associations (PASA) as well as the Orchard Golf and Country Club. Right before his appointment as GAB chairman, he used to be the chief of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).

Chairman Buhain is born on April 12, 1970. His wife, Ermita-Buhain, is currently Batangas' 1st District Representative at the Lower House. His two siblings are: Eira "Einica" Nicole and Eliana Patricia.
